(Dr Olufemi Oloyede)

A Fetal Medicine and Genetics Consultant in Nigeria. He received post-fellowship trainings and certifications in Fetal Medicine and Molecular Genetics under the auspices of Fetal Medicine Foundation, London, Sirous Zeinali Molecular Genetic Centre, Iran and the University of Lagos, Nigeria. His core competences include ultrasound screening and diagnosis of fetal disorders such as structural anomalies, aneuploidy, biochemical screening for pre-eclampsia and other adverse pregnancy outcomes, as well as invasive fetal procedures and therapy including chorionic villous sampling, selective feticide and amniodrainage.  With over 20 years of sub-specialization practice, Dr Oloyede is the lead Consultant in the Fetal Medicine Unit, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu Ogun State, Nigeria, where he facilitated the establishment of numerous training programmes in Ultrasonography and Fetal Medicine.

He has authored over 60 publication with over three-quarter in fetal medicine especially prenatal screening, diagnosis and therapy of fetal disorders in peer reviewed scientific journals. He also served as reviewer to local and international scientific journals. He organized and conducted several national seminars, conferences and workshops on obstetric ultrasonography and fetal medicine, initiated nuchal translucency scan clinic locally and conducted the 1st national nuchal translucency workshop. Dr. Oloyede has participated in many National and International conferences in Fetal Medicine, and delivered lectures on invasive prenatal diagnosis of sickle cell disorders and Down syndrome in Nigeria and pre-eclampsia screening and prevention.  

He is the President of the Fetal Medicine Group of Nigeria, member of the Association of Fetal and Maternal Medicine Specialists of Nigeria, Society for Gynaecologists and Obstetrics of Nigeria and Fetal Medicine Foundation, London.
