PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Tomi Coker, a renowned obstetrician and gynaecologist studied Medicine at the prestigious University of Ibadan and trained at several prestigious Teaching Hospitals in London, including St Mary’s Paddington and Queen Charlotte Hospital, respectively. In pursuit of her professional career, she underwent her Foetal Medicine training at Kings College Hospital, London under the globally renowned Professor Kypros Nicolaides.

Dr. Tomi Coker was appointed as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust in 2003.She has a wide range of surgical skills, being the lead female gynaecologist at West Hertfordshire NHS Trust, where she worked for sixteen years and rose to the post of Clinical Director. Also, she has a keen interest in Clinical Governance and Risk Management.

Additionally, Dr. Tomi Coker has a passion for promoting female well-being globally, hence her role as the Vice-Chair of the Royal College of Obstetrics Gynaecology Nigeria Liaison Group, which collaborates with local professional bodies in advocacy and the promotion of women’s health in developing countries with a focus on Africa.

As part of her annual charitable causes, she has been on several mission trips to various states in Nigeria, successfully deploying birth kits to several women in rural communities, to support the effort in reducing Maternal Mortality rate in Nigeria.

Dr. Tomi Coker is a fellow of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and an alumnus of Leadership Training in Healthcare Management at Harvard Business School, Boston, USA.

With a penchant for the outdoors, Dr. Tomi Coker  successfully hiked to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain.
